Raddec International Forms New Relationship with TALS OY

Raddec International is pleased to announce a new relationship with Finnish company TALS OY, bringing together two companies with complementary expertise in the field of radiation measurement and radioanalytical instrumentation.

Established in 2003, Raddec International specialises in radioanalytical systems for the efficient extraction and purification of volatile radionuclides. Our Pyrolyser systems are used by laboratories worldwide for the preparation and analysis of samples containing radionuclides including tritium and carbon-14, with more than 180 systems installed internationally.

TALS OY, based in Helsinki, has specialised in the engineering of radiation measurement instruments and radiation monitoring systems since 2015. Its work encompasses gamma, beta and alpha spectrometers and radiometers, liquid scintillation spectrometers, dosimetry, metrology and software for spectrometric analysis.

The relationship provides a particularly strong technical fit between the two companies. TALS OY‘s TRIEL liquid scintillation spectrometer is designed for the measurement of beta and alpha-emitting radionuclides, including H-3 and C-14, across a broad range of sample types. Raddec‘s Pyrolyser systems provide the preceding sample preparation stage, using controlled thermal extraction to convert radionuclides into forms suitable for subsequent liquid scintillation measurement.

Together, these technologies can form a complete analytical workflow, taking samples through thermal extraction and radionuclide recovery before measurement, data processing and reporting. TALS OY has already presented this combination as an integrated solution for the determination of H-3 and C-14 in environmental, biological, industrial and other sample types.

For Raddec, the relationship represents an opportunity to work alongside a company with established expertise in radiation metrology, spectrometry and analytical software, while extending the range of solutions available to laboratories working with radionuclide analysis.

We look forward to developing this relationship with TALS OY and to supporting customers with increasingly integrated solutions for radioanalytical sample preparation and measurement.
